Program Overview

The Jefferies Family Scholarship has been providing educational financial assistance to children of the employees of Jefferies Group, Inc. for 30 years. Through substantial scholarships, as well as Jefferies Awards of Merit, the program recognizes outstanding achievement—in and out of the classroom—and supports the efforts of serious and committed students.

Each year, Jefferies Family Scholarship gives awards to a group of carefully selected individuals that best meet the criteria of the program and embody the spirit and principles of its founders. Awards are based on a number of factors including financial need, academic merit, extracurricular activities and other considerations. The program grants both monetary-based and recognition-based awards. Scholarships are awarded for one year only. Monetary-based awards of $10,000 were granted to 2010-2011 scholarship recipients.

I am thankful to Jefferies Family Scholarship for giving me the support and tools to succeed at SUNY Cortland and the opportunity to study abroad at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. Academically, my grades have vastly improved due to my rigorous study habits and your belief in my ability to succeed.
